The Stanley Cup Final between Vegas and Florida will end with a first-time NHL champion Jon Hamm is excited for this Stanley Cup Final between the Florida Panthers and Vegas Golden Knights.“Stoked, man,” the actor and noted hockey fan said. “I live in L.A., so that’s a half-hour flight away for me.”The NHL is pumped, too. Even though the ratings will likely sag without big markets involved, the Sun Belt series will feature two teams that have never before won the Cup. It is also a chance for the league to show off its success growing in the U.S. beyond traditional hockey hotbeds.“It’s so refreshing and it’s so amazing,” retired player Anson Carter said. “When you constantly hear people saying hockey can’t work in the South or the Sun Belt markets, they’re wrong.”Carter hears his friends back home in Canada complaining about the NHL not wanting teams north of the border to win championships, and he dismisses it. Canada’s Cup drought dating to 1993 isn’t the fault of many of the Canada-born executives, coaches and players now working for Vegas or Florid...

Comfortably numb: Inside the Pink Floyd founder’s gig that Frankfurt tried to ban FRANKFURT — Pink Floyd legend Roger Waters’ concert begins with a profane announcement to his critics.“If you’re one of those ‘I love Pink Floyd, but I can’t stand with Roger’s politics,’ then fuck off to the bar!” the loudspeakers boom. The audience cheers; no one leaves.Frankfurt authorities had tried to stop this show, but the ban was overturned. Israel has pilloried Waters for desecrating the memory of Anne Frank. Accusations of antisemitism against Waters gained steam over his use of Nazi-like imagery, a floating pig emblazoned with the Star of David and allegations he’s relativized the Holocaust. On Sunday night in Frankfurt, POLITICO got a first-hand taste of the famous rocker’s German tour — which already has him facing a Berlin police probe. While anti-Waters protesters gathered on one side of the building, concertgoers came together to guzzle beer and gobble bratwurst at the entrance to the sold-out show at Frankfurt’s Festhalle. What was their m...

The video boards were all-Liam. The walk-in music, an EDM version of Queen’s “We Will Rock You,” was turned up to 11.Only one thing was missing.
