Cale Makar practices for first time during Avalanche camp, ‘confident’ about being ready for opening night Cale Makar was a full participant in practice for the first time at Colorado Avalanche training camp, and is ‘confident’ he’ll be ready for opening night Oct. 11 against the Los Angeles Kings.Makar dealt with a variety of injuries last season but said this is a lower-body issue. He had skated each of the past three days, but this was his first full practice with teammates. A doctor was caught in the crossfire and was among 4 killed in a gunbattle at a hospital in Mexico MEXICO CITY (AP) — A nighttime shooting attack on a hospital in northern Mexico has left four people dead, including a doctor, authorities said Friday. The attack happened near midnight Thursday in the Sinaloa state capital of Culiacan. The state is home to the drug cartel of the same name. State police said at least three gunmen tried to storm into the hospital, but two were killed in a gunbattle with security personnel. The doctor was apparently caught in the crossfire. A third assailant was wounded, but scuffled with a police officer as he was being taken to another hospital. The wounded assailant grabbed the officer’s gun and shot himself with it, police said. Local media reported that the gunmen stormed the hospital in order to finish off a patient who had been wounded in an earlier gunbattle. Grand jury indicts Duane 'Keffe D' Davis for Tupac Shakur's murder LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Twenty-seven years after the death of rapper Tupac Shakur, a Las Vegas-area grand jury has indicted a man with the icon’s murder, the 8 News Now Investigators confirmed Friday.A Clark County grand jury voted to indict Duane “Keffe D” Davis on a charge of murder with a deadly weapon with a gang enhancement. Las Vegas Metro police arrested Davis early Friday, prosecutors said.In his book and in several interviews, Davis, who is in his 60s, has said he was in the car with the person who shot Shakur and record executive Suge Knight near the Las Vegas Strip in September 1996.
