Record number of migrant buses arrive in Chicago in single weekend; city discusses its response

CHICAGO — Several armed robberies occurred on the North Side late Sunday night, according to Chicago police.One robbery happened around 11 p.m. in the 900 block of West Armitage. Police said a 42-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk when four males exited a white SUV and took her purse at gunpoint. BUDA, Texas (KXAN) -- On Monday, the Hays Consolidated Independent School District board approved the superintendent's request to the Hays County Sheriff's Office for additional school resource officers.Back in August, the HCISD Board of Trustees voted to get a good cause exception to a new Texas law on school security. A 10-acre property on the western edge of Bayport owned by People’s Congregational Church could become the new home of Andersen Elementary School under a plan discussed Monday evening at a Bayport City Council workshop.The property, called People’s Park, is located just west of Barkers Alps Park, which had previously been discussed as a potential site for the new school.
