Bettors put nearly $315 million on the line in wagers on sporting events that took place last month, producing more than $22.7 million in taxable revenue for operators and about $4.55 million in tax revenue for the state.The Mass. Gaming Commission said Friday that sports wagering and casino-style gambling combined in August to generate more than $120.6 million in taxable revenue for operators and $32.16 million in revenue for the state. CHICAGO — Charges have been filed against a Chicago man accused of fatally shooting a teen girl in the city's Kenwood neighborhood in early March.Steven Goodman, 37, from the city's Austin neighborhood is facing a first-degree murder charge and a murder-for-hire charge, Chicago police said in a news release on Saturday. 2 teens dead after shooting in Palatine Authorities say the shooting happened on Wednesday, March 1, in the 4500 block of South Drexel Boulevard. CHICAGO — A search is underway for a 68-year-old man missing from his home in Clearing on the city's Southwest Side, according to Chicago police. Police say Kevin Merker was last seen leaving his home in the 6100 block of West 63rd Place around 3 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14. Authorities are investigating what led up to the fatal shooting of a man by his father in Chino Hills. According to a release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were dispatched to the 2900 block of Buckhaven Road just before 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon on calls of an assault with a deadly weapon at a residence. Upon arriving, they found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was identified as 35-year-old Alexander Wang. Wang was rushed to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect, identified as 79-year-old Jimmy Wang, had shot his son.
