TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- In his last high school sports season, Ichabod Crane senior Alex Schmidt helped lead the baseball team to a section title as the Riders took down Cohoes 6-4. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! "I think it means a lot. Especially since you know we've been here three years in a row," Schmidt said. "We lost two heartbreakers, and a lot of us have just been trying to get back to this spot and prove that we're a lot better than just being runner-up in the sectional final, and we finally got it done, and it feels great."But this isn't Schmidt's first rodeo - he was just adding to his metaphorical trophy case. In his primary sport of basketball, Schmidt led the riders to not only a class b section title as a six seed, they won the whole thing, bringing home the state title. Winning titles in two sports is something he'll always hold on to."It's going to be something I can tell my kids, not only just basketball ...Venice's waters turn fluorescent green near Rialto Bridge

The waters in Venice's main canal turned fluorescent green on Sunday (28 May) in the area near the Rialto bridge and authorities are seeking to trace the cause, Italy's fire department said. The regional environmental protection agency has received samples of the altered waters and is working to identify the substance that changed their colour, the department said in a tweet. The Venice prefect has called an emergency meeting of police forces to understand what happened and study possible countermeasures, the Ansa news agency reported. The incident echoes recent episodes in Italy where environmental groups have been colouring monuments, including using vegetable charcoal to turn the waters of Rome's Trevi fountain black in a protest against fossil fuels. However, unlike previous cases, no activist group has come forward to claim responsibility for what happened in Venice.Ask Amy: He doesn’t realize his wife isn’t coming home until 1 a.m.

Dear Amy: My daughter is having an affair and cheating on her husband.I’m afraid that she is headed in a bad direction. She doesn’t come home after work until maybe 1 or 2 in the morning. Her husband works third shift, so he doesn’t know what time she comes in. She has adult kids and an 8-year-old girl.I’m staying at her house for the next two months and don’t want to get in the middle of all of this. She is going to see a lawyer in three weeks to see about a divorce and I know I’m going to be blamed for everything.I love my grandchildren very much and just don’t know what to do.Please help me!– Scared GranDear Gran: Even though your adult daughter’s behavior is really not in your control, she has placed you in the middle of this (or at least adjacent to it), because presumably she is using your presence in the household to step out on her husband.Third shift usually starts at 11 p.m., so I’m wondering what their parental overlap normally is,...Harriette Cole: This young man’s question made me realize the truth about my marriage

“Debt gets people into a lot of trouble,” said financial expert Harrine Freeman, cofounder and CEO of H.E. Freeman Enterprises in D.C.Freeman said there’s one big mistake she sees people make often: even those with a budget setup miscalculate how much money they have available on a credit or debit card.“Before I spend money, I check my account balance, and I check pending transactions so that I always know and account for transactions that have not processed,” Freeman said.People who don’t check their account before making purchases may see the available balance in their banking or credit card app and think it’s all the money they can spend when it’s not. When it comes to tackling debt built up, she always recommends focusing on credit card debt first.“The bonus is that helps your credit score,” Freeman said. “Then you want to tackle your installment debt and then any other debt that you have.”She also urged peop...Huazhu Group: Q1 Earnings Snapshot
