Police arrest man near Mass and Cass on cocaine distribution and firearm charges Boston police arrested a man following a drug investigation near Melnea Cass Boulevard and Massachusetts Avenue, the department said in a release.Around 2 p.m. Friday, officers were alerted after observing the suspect Joel Teixeira-Fermino, 39, allegedly “engage in several hand-to-hand drug transactions,” the department said.The police approached Teixeira-Fermino, at which time they reported seeing a “plastic bag of a white rock-like substance protruding from his sweatshirt pocket.”While arresting the Dorchester resident, police said, they recovered a loaded firearm from his right side. Largo police arrested Dr. Tomasz Kosowski on a first-degree murder charge on Saturday in the disappearance of Steven Cozzi, who was last seen Tuesday at Blanchard Law, the firm where he worked. Police said Sunday that while Cozzi’s body has not been found, they have evidence that he was killed by Kosowski. They said Cozzi’s wallet, phone and keys were found in the law office along with a significant amount of blood in the bathroom. They say a suspicious person and car were seen at the office, leading them to Kosowski. A search of the doctor’s Tarpon Springs home found evidence that led to his arrest, police said. Philadelphia residents warned about chemical spill in river PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Philadelphia residents are being told that they may want to drink only bottled water following a chemical spill into the Delaware River in neighboring Bucks County.Bucks County health officials said Sunday that a leak late Friday evening at the Trinseo Altuglas chemical facility in Bristol Township spilled between 8,100 and 12,000 gallons of a water-based latex finishing solution into the river. Officials said it is non-toxic to humans and no known adverse health effects have been reported in the county.Mike Carroll, deputy managing director for Philadelphia’s Office of Transportation, Infrastructure and Sustainability, said there had been no sign of contaminants in city water but officials “cannot be 100% certain” traces won’t show up Sunday afternoon.
